The 2018 Hong Kong Flower Show

The annual Hong Kong Flower Show, which is organized by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department to promote horticulture and the awareness of greening, is a major event.  Every year, hundreds of thousands of local citizens and horticulture lovers all over the world flock to Victoria Park in Causeway Bay to appreciate the beauty of the flowers and share their experiences in the cultivation of flowers. The dahlia was the theme flower for the 2018 Hong Kong Flower Show

The dahlia was this year’s theme flower. As the show’s theme “Joy in Bloom” suggests, the exquisite blossoms of dahlias greeted visitors through the colorful realm of botanical wonders. Featuring the dahlia as its theme flower, the event showcased this exquisite plant and a rich profusion of exquisite potted plants, beautiful floral arrangements, and gorgeous landscape displays by organizations from the world over. There were also commercial stalls selling flowers and other horticultural products. Please watch this video of flower sculptures and other scenes from the show:

The event showcased a rich amount of colorful flowers and plants, as well as a rich diversity of educational and recreational fringe activities for the enjoyment of visitors of all ages.  They included student drawing competition, photo competition, exhibit competition, music and cultural performances, floral art demonstrations, greening activities workshops, green promotional game stalls, guided visits, recreation programmes, and fun games.
