A rich businessman had four wives. He loved his fourth wife the most. He gave her beautiful clothes to wear, gave her delicious food to eat, and he looked after her very well. He gave her the best of everything.

He also loved his third wife. He was quite proud of her and always showed her off in front of his friends, but the rich businessman was always very anxious because he worried that she might run away with another man.

He also loved his second wife. She was always very considerate and very patient. In fact, she was this rich man’s confidant. No matter what, anytime the rich man encountered a problem, he would always look to find his second wife, and she would always help him out of trouble.

The businessman’s first wife was an extremely loyal companion. She put forth great effort in maintaining the household. But although the first wife loved the businessman deeply, he did not love her and virtually ignored her.

Being rich will never buy love or loyalty

One day, the rich businessman became ill. After some time, he learned that he would not live much longer. Thinking of the luxurious life he had lived, he couldn’t help but start talking to himself: “I now have four wives beside me, but after I die, I will be all alone by myself, and I am going to become very lonely.

So he asked his fourth wife: “I loved you the most, and treated you the best, and looked after you the best. Now I am going to die soon. Will you follow and accompany me?” The fourth wife yelled “No way!” and stormed out. Her answer stabbed the rich man’s heart like a sharp blade.

The sorrowful businessman then asked his third wife: “I have loved you so dearly my entire life. Now, I am going to die soon. Are you willing to accompany me?” ”NO!” the third wife replied. “Life is so wondrous, and there are plenty of men that fancy me. I will marry again after you die!” The businessman’s heart sank and turned cold.

He then asked his second wife: “I have always asked for your help, and you have always come through for me. Now, I need your help again. After I die, will you accompany me?” “Sorry, dear, this time I can’t help you!” the second wife answered. “The most I can do for you is to send you to the graveyard.” This answer sounded like a thunderstorm and broke his spirit.

At this time, a voice rang out: “I will follow you. No matter where you go, to heaven or hell, I will be with you!” The rich man lifted up his head and looked. It was his first wife. She was skinny to the bones and looked like she had been malnourished for a long time. The businessman was in extreme anguish and said: “I should have taken better care of you.”

As a matter of fact, in life, we all have 4 wives

The fourth wife is our physical body, no matter how rich we are it may fade if we do not look after it properly.
When you are chasing after material goods, wealth, and satisfying bodily desires, you often forget about the health of your soul. (Image: via Pixabay)

The fourth wife is your physical body. No matter how generously you spend your time and effort to keep it at its peak condition, maintain a beautiful image, and satisfy everything it needs, when the time comes, it will leave you.

The third wife is your fame, power, and wealth. No matter how much glory they have brought you, after you die, they will belong to others.

The second wife is your family and friends. When you are alive, no matter how close they are to you, in the end, they can only accompany you to your grave.

The first wife is your soul. When you are chasing after material goods, wealth, and satisfying your bodily desires, she is often forgotten by you. Never lose yourself!
