In ancient times, people paid great attention to shampoos because they considered hair very important. Their shampoos not only cleansed the hair but also made it more beautiful and darker, promoted growth, and prevented hair loss.

3 natural shampoos that will nourish your hair

1. Fermented rice water is among the best shampoos

Rice water is the best shampoo; not only does it cleanse hair well, but it can also promote growth and make hair dark, shiny, and thick.

Rice water can prevent hair from falling and it also promotes your pigment cells to produce melanin, so your hair becomes darker and shinier. Rice water is also rich in starch, protein, and amino acids. After fermentation, it is more easily absorbed and its cleansing power is enhanced.

Save the rice water in a container with a tight lid. You can add rice water daily.  After two days, you can use it to wash your hair.

Warm the rice water before use and massage it into the scalp and hair repeatedly for 5-10 minutes, then rinse the scalp and hair with warm water.

If you find the smell from the fermentation unpleasant, you can add some aromatic smell into the water, such as lemon peel, rosemary, pineapple,  lavender, or wild chrysanthemum. Just squeeze out the juice and add it to the rice water. It not only improves the smell of the rice water, but also enhances its nourishing effect.

2. Egg whites

Egg whites not only can cleanse your hair, but they also provide many nutrients for hair growth, prevent hair loss, and make hair dark, shiny, and beautiful.

Use 1-3 egg whites according to your hair volume.

Wet your hair and then put the egg whites on your scalp. Gently massage your scalp and hair for 5-10 minutes, and then rinse off with warm water.

Water temperature should not be too high, otherwise, the protein may solidify in your hair and it will be hard to rinse off.

3. Rice vinegar

Rice vinegar not only removes grease and dirt from your hair, but it also can activate blood circulation, eliminate swelling and detoxification, improve scalp blood circulation, stop itching and hair loss, and remove dandruff.

Dilute the vinegar with 2-3 times the water, drizzle on your scalp and hair, gently massage for 5-10 minutes, and rinse off with warm water.

Natural conditioners

If you want to use ancient shampoos, you can also use egg yolks or fruit vinegar as conditioners.

For dry hair, use an adequate amount of egg yolk on your washed hair and wrap it with plastic film for 5-10 minutes before rinsing.

For oily hair, dilute fruit vinegar with 3-5 times the water and apply it evenly — wrap it with plastic film or a towel for 5-10 minutes before rinsing.

Adding a few drops of lemon essential oil or lavender essential oil to the egg yolk or vinegar will make your hair fragrant, soft, and shiny.
