Although there are some medical reasons for prematurely white hair such as autoimmune disease or B12 deficiency, white hair is usually a sign of aging. It is often seen among the aged; however, more and more young people are bothered by premature white hair growth too and they want a more natural hair dye.

To deal with the onset of white hair, both the inside and outside of your body need to be taken care of. To regulate the inside, “black” food is called for, which not only nourishes the kidneys, but it also promotes hair growth. The following three foods, together with acupoint massage and a natural dye to maintain the outside, will work to solve the problem.

Foods to cure white hair

1. Black beans

Rich in melanin, black beans can promote the biosynthesis of tyrosine, which can help turn white hair black. The isoflavones in black beans closely resemble estrogen. Frequent consumption of black beans can regulate androgen levels, the secretion of which is a major cause of hair loss.

2. Black sesame

Black sesame can nourish the blood, blacken hair, re-energize the liver, tonify the kidneys, and brighten up the face. It is good food for both beauty and health. Its biotin content works best to correct hair loss due to a weak constitution and premature aging, and to a certain extent, to relieve drug- and disease-induced hair loss.

3. Walnuts

Walnuts can blacken the hair and lighten up your complexion. It was mentioned in ancient Chinese medical books that “when meridians are unobstructed, hair and beard are black” because “hair is a reflection of the blood condition.” When the condition is good, hair is dark. Walnut also contains multi-vitamins that can improve your skin’s physiological activities, making it a good beauty food for women.

1. Baihui acupoint

The Baihui acupoint is at the center of the head. Massaging it can calm your mind, uplift yang energy, strengthen muscle tone, and cure hair loss.

2. Jiaosun acupoint

The Jiaosun acupoint is directly above the ear apex within the hairline where a depression lies. Massaging it can promote blood flow to the head for hair growth.

3. Fengchi acupoint

The Fengchi acupoint is the depression between the skull and neck. Massaging it can promote blood flow to the head, clear the head and eyes, and sharpen the five senses and seven orifices. It has good effects on curing white hair.

A natural hair dye to darken white hair

Frequent coloring and perming cause damage to hair. The many chemical components of these hair dyes and products can even cause cancer. Is there a safer alternative then? Indeed, there is. This formula gives you a natural hair dye that is safe and uses only two ingredients — black beans and rice vinegar.

Black beans are rich in melanin and rice vinegar can enhance the coloring effect. They make a perfect pair for a natural hair dye.

Steps:

  • Put both black beans and vinegar into a pot and bring to a boil;
  • Continue on at medium heat until the beans are thoroughly cooked;
  • Drain the bean dregs and continue to boil the liquid at medium heat until it turns very thick;
  • Switch off the heat and wait till the mixture cools down to serve.

First, patch a little on the back of the ear or wrist for a sensitivity test and wait for 20 minutes. If there is no discomfort, proceed as you would with your usual hair dye. When the dyeing process is done, wait for 20-30 minutes before rinsing.
