The goal for millions of individuals is to lose weight, but only a minuscule section of those people can achieve the weight loss they desire. There are thousands of weight-loss diets, and the number of people getting fed up with the lack of success from trying those weight loss plans keeps growing with time. This is where the no-diet way comes in.

There are others who want to lose weight but who are put off by the thought of staying off their favorite dishes or having to hit the gym regularly. For the majority, managing their time so they can fit in a workout is the issue, while there are some who have other limitations. 

Why do the majority of diet and weight loss plans fail to work?

Before you opt for any fitness plan or a new diet, try to think why most people on such plans do not succeed. A lot of them opt for extreme weight loss diets sold with lofty promises. Some of these are also endorsed by celebrities and sportspersons.

Extreme dieting is not an ideal way to lose weight and keep it off. When you cut down on food, the body adapts to the changed metabolism. It then stores calories as fat. That is why most people who try extreme weight loss diets quickly regain lost weight after reverting to a more normal way of eating. So, they gain weight even though they do not eat extra afterward.

If you are wondering how to lose weight in a safe way and how to avoid counting calories, just follow some tried and tested rules that weight loss experts advise. 

The no-diet way to lose weight

Include fiber in your meals

You have to include a lot of plant-based fiber in your meals. The easiest way to do so is by eating a lot of fruits and vegetables. Fiber slows down food absorption and controls calorie flow to the bloodstream. You have to understand that your body can use just a teaspoon of sugar at one time. Eat anything more and it gets stored as fat in body parts. So, include salads in your meals to regulate sugar levels. Even if you have a craving for a pizza, ensure the toppings are made up of crunchy vegetables like peppers, mushrooms, and spinach! You can also eat nuts, seeds, and legumes for fiber. You have to eat around 25-38 grams per day. 

Cut portions

To stay healthy and slim, cut down on the portion of foods. Most people do not even realize they eat much more than they should. Your body can do with 2000 calories a day but you may end up taking in 3500 calories. Eating too much is what makes you prone to weight gain but it also paves the way for cancer and diabetes. 

Avoid added sugar

The natural sugar you get from fruits and vegetables is good for your body. However, the same cannot be said about the artificial sugar that gets into the body through many other food sources. Think of the cookies, crackers, chips, and other processed foods you eat every day! It is best to avoid eating ready-to-cook and processed foods. Also, try to eat foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids. So, eat walnuts, hemp seeds, kidney beans, and chia seeds.

Don’t eat after an early dinner

It is good if you can have an early dinner and then not eat anything else before going to bed. Do not gorge on sweets or snacks before you sleep. When you have dinner early and then do other work, the body is engaged in the process of digestion and other clean-up work. 

Ensure you do not stay idle

You may not have to hit the gym or swim laps to shed fat. However, avoid a sedentary lifestyle by all means. If you lack time for doing workouts, ensure you walk a lot and run if you can. Avoid using the elevator at the office and walk a small distance instead of using the car.
