You may have made many plans for your career and life, but there is no certainty that all those plans will come to fruition. For some people, choosing the less-trodden way becomes a better option to feel fulfilled after hitting a certain age. The twenties pass by quite fast, and most people do not even realize how they got into their thirtiess. However, after hitting the thirties things start slowly changing. The majority of the friends and colleagues we have will tie the knot and follow traditional ways, but for some individuals in their thirties, staying single seems the practical choice.

While choosing not to get married can make you feel liberated and definitely makes life more flexible, there are drawbacks. A number of women and men in their 30s find it hard to fight back loneliness and negative feelings that creep in with age. However, it does not have to be that way. There are many ways to feel fulfilled if you are over 30 and single.

7 ways to feel fulfilled

1. Develop new career skills

The job market is becoming more competitive with time, and it makes sense to augment your skills, regardless of your educational background. Instead of spending your weekends all by yourself and feeling morose and lonesome, enroll in a weekend course. It can be a new language or a course in ethical hacking, based on your interest. You can also opt for online courses as long as you find these interesting and useful to feel fulfilled.

2. Indulge in self-care

Single men and women are often so busy with their careers and chores that they do not get enough time to look after themselves. Take some time from your weekends and indulge in self-care. This can be done at home, or you may also head to a lavish spa. It is a nice feeling when you get compliments on a new hairdo or radiant skin and this is one way to help you feel fulfilled.

3. Dates

Just because you are not in the mood to tie the knot anytime soon, it does not mean you cannot look for compatible dates! With a little effort, you can find men and women in the same age group who are also looking for exciting dates without getting too involved. Of course, you will have to be careful about picking a date as people using popular dating apps and websites can be quite whimsical and unpredictable at times. Who knows, you may even find some good friends from such dates.

4. Trips

Travel can be the ideal stress-buster when you feel morose owing to singlehood in your thirties. It can be a weekend trip to a lesser-known destination near the city. If you dislike visiting crowded spots, there are plenty of resorts and holiday spots where tourism is just growing. Pick from a riverside destination or a forest, according to your preference.

5. Relocate

Sometimes, single people in their thirties feel sad or depressed when they stay in a place where they have experienced many negative things. If you have a number of bad memories associated with the place you live, it is time to relocate. Moving to a new place and starting life afresh can help you feel fulfilled.

6. Revamp your home’s interior

Sometimes, revamping your home’s interior can make you feel good. If you are creative and know what works well, the look and vibes can change for the better. It can be about buying new furniture, giving the walls a fresh coat of paint, or remodeling a section of the house.

7. Get a pet

Sometimes, a non-human companion can be better at cheering you up and keeping you in good spirits than a human one. Adopt a pet, and you may feel better in many ways. It can be a fluffy cat or a playful dog. Some people also like talking birds or quiet animals like rabbits as pets.
