When you are in a relationship, it is natural that you feel the urge to show the partner how you think of them. Couples in a relationship can create intimacy, but it is not only limited to physical intimacy. You can get intimate with your partner or spouse without showing physical love. There are many ways to show how deeply you feel for your partner. In addition, you may indulge in acts of non-sexual intimacy to strengthen your relationship from time to time.

Some tried and tested non-sexual ways to express intimacy with your partner

Listening to music

Using music is an excellent way to connect with your partner and share common interests. There are no fixed formulas, but you can try sharing your favorite tracks with your partner. For example, listening to mutually favorite tracks after work on weekends is an excellent way to enjoy the company of your significant other. You may also resort to curating customized playlists for each other and listening to them in your spare time.

Solving puzzles

Sometimes, you can involve your partner or spouse to solve those jigsaw puzzles or play a complex problem together. This will require both of you to use your grey cells when you help each other resolve the dilemmas that will help boost the bond.

Pampering each other

You may have seen your partner visiting the spa and beauty salon from time to time. Why not give them a beauty treatment at home? An oil massage or new hairstyle will positively impact your relationship. If necessary, you can check out a few YouTube videos and master how to perform a massage or hairstyling at home. Compared to the result, the effort is not hard!

Cooking together

If your spouse is the one who handles the culinary duties, sometimes you may opt for a role reversal. While it is an excellent idea to don a chef’s hat and cook a few delicious dishes, a better idea is to cook together. The precious little acts such as getting the ingredients from the grocery store, cutting the vegetables, and aiding each other in cooking will deepen your bond. In addition, you can be a little experimental and try cooking a new dish together. Even if it does not taste great, you will relish the overall experience.

Creating artwork

Let your creative juices flow and ask your partner to create some artwork or craft for home instead of going to a gift shop or boutique. For example, you can take biodegradable or broken items at home and try to develop decorative stuff like storage racks and vases together. You may also chalk out plans to revamp a room’s décor together.

Learning a new skill

It is never too late to learn new things in life, which holds for couples who have spent several years together. Therefore, it is an excellent idea to learn a new skill together. This can include learning a new language, swimming or dance lessons together, and even gardening. If fitness is essential for both, try attending an aerobics class together and see how it goes. You may have to adjust your work schedule, but the results are definitely worth the effort.

Enjoying short trips

You may have enjoyed extensive vacation trips with extended family members and friends. Still, it is also necessary to spend some private time with your partner at times. For this, you may head on a trip to an offbeat destination. The critical idea is that it is meant for just the two of you. You should pick a serene place where the chaotic crowd will not be present. Ensure you cut off distractions in such trips and focus on spending quality time together.
